RESERVATIONS:
Reservations
are Required
for Cades Cove, Smokemont and Elkmont campgrounds May 15 - October 31
through the National Park Service at (800) 365-2267.
RECOMMENDATION:
Due to maintenance,
weather or wraths of nature, the Park Service may close campgrounds,
shelters and roads. For updated road and weather information, call
865-436-1200.
MAXIMUM
STAY: The
maximum stay is 7 days from May 15 - Labor Day and 14 days during winter
and spring, however group camping is limited to 7 nights.
HANDICAPPED
ACCESS: Wheelchair
access, including restrooms, are located at Cades Cove campground, Elkmont
campground, Smokemont campground, most picnic areas and visitor centers.
Reservations are required during May 15 - October 31 and can be made in
advanced by calling (800) 365-2267. One trail, the Sugarlands Valley
Nature Trail, features a paved, level trail just south of the Sugarlands
Visitor Center. Wayside exhibits, large print brochures and a cassette
media are part of the trail experience.
OCCUPANCY:
No more than 6
people may occupy a site with 2 tents or 1 RV and one tent.
PET POLICY:
Pets
are permitted in campgrounds on a leash only, but are not permitted on trails.

Abrams Creek -
Open March 12 - October 31, 16 sites, RV's up to 12' in
length, $14.00 per night, located 6 miles East of Chilhowee Lake,
elevation 1,125 feet. Tent and trailer sites available.

Balsam Mountain -
Open June 17 - October 11, 46 sites, RV's up to 30' in
length, $14.00 per night, located 8 miles North of the Blue Ridge Parkway,
elevation 5,310 feet. Offers wood for sale.

Creek - Open March

TENT SITES ONLY, $14.00 per night,
located 16 miles East of Newport, elevation 1,700 feet.

Cades Cove -
Open year-round, 159 sites, RV's up to 35' in length, $17.00 - 20.00 per night, located 9 miles Southwest of Townsend, elevation 1,807
feet. Offers a disposal station, wood for sale, bicycle rentals and a small grocery store.
Guided tours are available on horseback for $25.00 per person, carriage
rides through Cades Cove for $10.00 per person, motorized hay rides for $6.00 per person and ranger-led guides hay rides
for $8.00 per person. Call 865-448-9034 for the Cades Cove Store
Campground ONLY. The store is open March 26 - October 31.

Cataloochee -
Open March 12 - October 31, 27 sites, RV's up to 31' in length, $17.00 per
night, located off exit 276 on I-40 East, elevation 2,610 feet.

Open March 12 - October 31, 165 sites, RV's up to 25' in length,
$14.00 per night, located 2 miles South of Cosby, elevation 2,459 feet.
Offers a disposal station.

Deep Creek -
Open April 1 - October 31, 92 sites, RV's up to 26' in
length, $17.00 per night, located 3 miles North of Bryson City, NC,
elevation 1,800 feet.

Elkmont -
Open March 12 - November 30, 220 sites, RV's up to 35' in
length, trailers up to 32' in length, $17.00 - $23.00 per night, located 8 miles Southwest of
Gatlinburg, elevation 2,150 feet. Offers wood for sale, vending and ice
with a disposal station nearby.

Rock - Open May
14 - October 31, 68 sites, NO RESTRICTIONS ON RV's,
$14.00 per night, located off of the Foothills Parkway West, elevation
2,600 feet.

Open May 28 - December 31, 142 sites, RV's up to 40' in length, trailers up to
35' in length, $17.00 - $20.00 per night, located 6 miles North of Cherokee, NC, elevation 2,198
feet. Offers a disposal station and wood for sale.
