5:  11th SEAL Extreme Off-Road Challenge
Cosby. 5.6 K (3.5 miles) Obstacle run for men and women. This is a difficult course designed to challenge participants both physically and mentally. Hosted and developed by a retired US Navy SEAL! 65 private acres of Jeep, ATV, and hiking trails that wind participants through woods, up across mountain tops, slog runners through creeks and ponds and up against natural and man made obstacles such as hop-over walls, log balances, rope bridges, log hurdles, and a near vertical hillside rope climbs. The course boasts nearly 2,700 feet of combined elevation rise and fall. Prepare to get dirty, wet, muddy, sweaty, and tired. Spectators FREE. Begins at 10 am. 14 - 15:  4th Annual Fear the Reaper 12 Hour Endurance Race
Cosby. Outdoor in the Smokies. A 2 mile course with rugged uphill climbs, steep descents, a pond crossings, and a near vertical rope climb on every lap. This course is designed to quickly distance itself from other events that claim to push you to your limits. This is an your face, dirty, wet, sweaty, strength & stamina required event.  The course boasts over 1,400 ft of elevation rise and fall per lap. It is a leg shredder. Only the physically and mentally strong will stay the course for the full 12 hours! For the night portion of the event, participants MUST depart the official scoring area with a functioning (suggest it’s waterproof) portable light (flashlight, headlamp, etc). You will not be allowed to begin the lap without a functioning light. Backup lights are recommended. Plan for the lighting requirement of up to 45 minutes  per lap. Hands free lighting is recommended for the rope climb, but not mandatory. Race is 8 pm - 8 am. For additional information visit

20:  1st Annual 5 Alarm Challenge and Festival
Newport. Fundraiser for the Newport Firefighters Local 4592! Come prepared to get dirty, wet, muddy, sweaty, and tired!  5K adventure race is intended for two person teams to simulate the firefighters code of “two in, two out” for fire scene entry and buddy safety/security (we also have an individual category). The course has challenging terrain (although not as challenging as our SEAL Extreme Challenge and Fear the Reaper 12 hour events) along with man-made obstacles, ponds, rope climbs, and more!
